Custom gates and privacy screens that add security, privacy and style.
Driveway gates, pedestrian gates, automation and architectural privacy screens, designed and fabricated in Tauranga for homes across the Bay.
Security and privacy, finished with real style.
The entrance to your property sets the tone for everything behind it. A well-designed gate adds security and privacy, but it should also look like it belongs to the home. At Matrix Outdoor Solutions we design, fabricate and install custom gates and privacy screens for homeowners across Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty, combining practical performance with clean, architectural detail.
Because we fabricate in-house, every gate and screen is made to your measurements and your style. Choose vertical or horizontal slats, louvre blades, perforated panels or laser-cut patterns, in marine-grade aluminium, powder-coated in any colour you like. The same design language can carry across your driveway gate, pedestrian gate, fencing and screens for a cohesive look.
Driveway and pedestrian gates
We build sliding and swing gates to suit your driveway width, gradient and available run-off space. Sliding gates are ideal for sloping or short driveways; swing gates suit wider entrances with a more traditional feel. Matching pedestrian gates, letterbox integration and intercom or keypad posts complete the entrance.
Automation
Most of the gates we install are automated. We supply and fit reliable gate motors with remote controls, keypad and intercom access, smartphone control and safety sensors, and we can integrate with existing security systems. Solar-powered options are available where mains power is difficult to reach.
Privacy screens
Privacy screens define outdoor spaces and block unwanted sightlines without building a solid wall. Use them to screen a spa or outdoor shower, hide bins and service areas, shelter a deck from wind, or create a striking feature alongside a pergola or pool. Fixed and sliding screens are available, with slat spacing tuned to give you the balance of privacy and airflow you want.
Built to last
Marine-grade aluminium, stainless hinges and fixings, and a durable powder-coat finish mean your gates and screens will handle salt air and coastal weather for years to come. Everything is fabricated in our Tauranga workshop and installed by our own team.
Start with a free on-site consultation. We measure, discuss your design ideas and access needs, then provide a clear fixed quote. Typical lead time from approval to installation is four to eight weeks.

Frequently asked questions.
Can’t find what you’re looking for? Get in touch and we’ll happily talk it through.
Sliding or swing gate, which should I choose?
Sliding gates suit sloping driveways and sites with limited swing room. Swing gates need level ground and clearance but offer a classic look. We recommend the best fit during your site visit.
Can you automate my existing gate?
In most cases, yes. We assess the gate’s condition, weight and hinges and recommend a suitable motor and safety system.
What access options are available?
Remote controls, keypads, intercoms with video, smartphone apps and vehicle sensors can all be integrated.
How much privacy do slatted screens give?
It depends on slat width and spacing. We can adjust the design so you block sightlines from specific angles while keeping airflow and light.
Are your gates suitable for coastal properties?
Yes. We use marine-grade aluminium with stainless fixings and a powder-coat finish designed for salt air.
Do I need a consent or neighbour agreement for a fence or screen?
Screens and fences under two metres generally do not require consent. If consent is required, we can assist by providing the technical drawings and documentation, but we don’t carry out the consent process itself. Boundary fences may involve your neighbour under the Fencing Act; we can advise on this.
